A UGC portfolio TikTok account that wins briefs

How to build a UGC portfolio TikTok account brands can judge in seconds: what to post, how to label samples, and how to keep it honest and up to date.

Farmero team · checked

Short answer: a UGC portfolio account is a TikTok (or Reels) page that shows brands the formats you sell. Post short samples of each format, label them clearly, pin your best three, and put a contact route in the bio. Label sample or spec work honestly, disclose paid work, and don't imply a brand hired you if it didn't.

What a brand checks in seconds

Brand question What answers it
Can they hook? Strong first seconds in every sample
Do they fit our category? Samples in that category
Can they do our format? Demos, unboxings, voiceovers, testimonials-style
Is the quality consistent? Lighting, sound, captions across posts
How do I reach them? Email or link in bio

What to post

  • One sample per format you offer: hands-on demo, unboxing, talking to camera, voiceover, screen recording. See faceless UGC formats if you don't show your face.
  • Hook variations: the same product with three different openings shows range.
  • Category clusters: a few samples each in the two or three categories you want to work in.
  • Before-and-after edits: raw footage versus the finished cut shows editing skill.

Keep samples short. Brands scan.

Labeling and honesty

  • Spec work: say so. "Sample ad, not sponsored" in the caption or on screen.
  • Paid work: only post client videos your contract allows, with the disclosure the FTC expects in the video itself (FTC, as of 17 September 2026).
  • No implied partnerships. Don't suggest a brand hired you when it didn't, and avoid using brand logos in ways that imply endorsement.
  • Real experiences only. Don't claim results you didn't get.
  • AI: label realistic AI content. See AI UGC and disclosure.

Keeping it current

  • Add new samples as your skills or categories change.
  • Archive older samples that no longer reflect your quality.
  • Track which samples brands mention in replies; those are your best advertising.
  • Keep client work separate from the portfolio unless contracts allow it. See the UGC deliverables schedule.

If brands ask for Spark Ads on your portfolio posts, see Spark Ads codes.

Pitching with the portfolio

When you reach out to a brand, link to the portfolio and name the two or three samples closest to what they sell. Mention the formats you offer and your turnaround in one or two sentences. Keep the pitch short; the samples do the work. If a brand replies asking for a specific format you haven't posted yet, make a spec sample, label it as a sample, and add it to the portfolio so the next brand sees it too.

Running a portfolio with Farmero

A portfolio account is often one of several you keep: a portfolio page, a niche page or two, and client accounts. Farmero posts to all of them from your iPhones through the real apps, with each account checked on screen before posting so samples don't land on the wrong page. See add accounts.

FAQ

Do I need a separate TikTok account for my UGC portfolio?

It helps. A dedicated account keeps samples in one place brands can scan, separate from personal posts.

Can I post UGC I made for a brand on my portfolio?

Only if your contract allows it, and with the disclosure the work requires.

Is it OK to make spec ads for brands that didn't hire me?

Many creators do, but label them clearly as samples and don't imply the brand endorsed or paid for them.

How many samples should a UGC portfolio have?

Enough to show each format you sell, with your best three pinned.
