Short answer: Buffer is a low-cost, per-channel scheduler for brands, creators and small teams, covering eleven networks from a web dashboard. Farmero is a Mac app that drives iPhones you own and posts through the real TikTok, Instagram and YouTube apps. If you run a handful of brand channels, Buffer is the simpler choice. If you operate many TikTok, Reels or Shorts accounts, each signed in on a real phone, Farmero is built for that.

How the two approaches differ
Buffer is a scheduler: you connect a channel once, write posts in a dashboard, and Buffer publishes them at the time you set. There is no phone involved, and one person can manage many brand channels from a browser.
Farmero works on the device. It opens the app on an iPhone, checks the profile header to confirm it is on the right account, publishes, then checks the profile for the new post before marking it posted. Anything it can't confirm is recorded as uncertain and is not retried automatically. For the API side of this trade-off, see TikTok API posting limits.
When Buffer is the better fit
- You manage brand or client channels and want them all in one calendar.
- You need networks Farmero does not cover, such as LinkedIn, Pinterest or Bluesky.
- You want a free plan or a very low per-channel price for a few channels.
- You don't want to own, cable or maintain phones.
When Farmero is the better fit
- You run many TikTok, Instagram or YouTube accounts and want each one used from a real iPhone, the way a person would use it.
- You want optional warm-ups: feed scrolling, varied watch times and likes at a rate you set, before and between posts.
- You want to drop a clip once and fan it out to many accounts as separate, editable posts (posting guide).
- You need a record of what actually went live, not just what was sent.
Automating these apps may breach their terms, and nobody can promise an account will never be restricted.
FAQ
Can Buffer manage multiple TikTok accounts?
Buffer prices per channel, so you can connect several. As of 17 September 2026 its pricing page lists $5 per channel on Essentials and $10 per channel on Team, billed yearly, with lower rates above ten channels.
Does Farmero use the TikTok API like Buffer?
No. Farmero does not use any platform API. It drives the real apps on iPhones you own over USB.
Is Buffer cheaper than Farmero?
For a few channels, yes. Farmero's lowest plan is $49 a month for three iPhones and 24 accounts; posts are not metered.
Can I use both?
Yes. Some operators keep brand channels in a scheduler and run their phone-based accounts in Farmero. They don't conflict.
