Short answer: if TikTok bans your account and you think it is a mistake, use the appeal option in the ban notice that appears when you open the app or log in, and follow its status in the in-app Safety Center. TikTok says you can appeal bans, removed content and For You feed restrictions you believe were wrong. Appeal once, clearly and factually. Do not open a new account to carry on while you wait; TikTok treats that as ban evasion.

How to appeal
- Open the app and log in to the banned account. A ban notice should appear.
- Read the reason. Note which rule it names and any content it points to.
- Tap the appeal option in the notice.
- Write a short, factual explanation: why you believe the decision is wrong, and any relevant context (for example, the video is your own work, or the content was educational).
- Submit once and watch the Safety Center or your notifications for the outcome.
If the ban is for being under the minimum age, TikTok has a separate underage appeals process (help center page title, as of September 2026).
What helps and what does not
Helps:
- Being specific about the post and the rule.
- Staying calm and brief.
- Having fixed anything that was genuinely wrong on other accounts you run.
Does not help:
- Filing many appeals for the same decision.
- Arguing about other creators' content.
- Opening a new account. TikTok's integrity rules prohibit using another account, new or existing, to continue behavior that got a different account banned. Nothing on this page helps you get around a ban.
