Why generic charts mislead
Big "best time to post" studies are real data, but they answer a different question. Buffer's September 2026 analysis, for example, is based on 7.1 million TikTok posts (Buffer, as of September 2026). That is useful for the average account. Your account is not average:
- Your audience's time zone may be nowhere near the study's.
- Your niche has its own rhythm: students, night-shift workers and parents are online at different hours.
- TikTok recommends videos over time. A post can find viewers hours or days later, so the exact minute matters less than people think.
- Aggregates hide spread. A "best hour" can be only slightly better than the hours around it.
Where to find your own best times
Buffer's guide describes the path as of September 2026: open TikTok Studio from your profile, go to Analytics, then the Followers tab, and look at Most active times, which shows when your followers were most active on the app over the past week.
