TikTok accounts for different countries in app marketing

How to run localized TikTok accounts by language for an app, who should make the content, how to track each market, and why faking location is off the table.

Farmero team · checked

Short answer: build localized accounts around language and culture, not fake locations. Each account posts in one language, made or reviewed by a fluent speaker, with captions, on-screen text and store pages in that language. Don't fake GPS, SIM or network location to look local: that is deceptive and breaks platform rules. Expect an account's audience to follow its language and content more than any setting.

What actually localizes an account

Lever What to do Why
Language of speech and text Record and caption in the target language Viewers and search read it
Local references Local prices, holidays, habits Makes the video relatable
Native reviewer A fluent person checks every script Machine translation reads as foreign
Localized App Store page Localized screenshots and text; a custom product page per market The store should match the video
Posting time Post when that audience is awake Early engagement comes from real viewers
Hashtags and search terms Terms locals actually search Discovery

TikTok has said that device and account settings, such as language preference and country setting, are included in recommendations but "receive lower weight" than signals people actively express (TikTok Newsroom, June 2020, checked 17 September 2026). What people watch and engage with matters more, which is why the content has to be genuinely local.

Do not fake location

  • Don't use tools that fake GPS or pretend a phone is in another country.
  • Don't buy SIMs or accounts to appear local.
  • Don't claim to be a local person if you aren't.

If you use a proxy for network reasons, it doesn't make content local, and using infrastructure to disguise who runs an account is the kind of deception platform rules prohibit. TikTok's guidelines say multiple accounts are fine for authentic creative expression, "but not for deceptive purposes" (integrity and authenticity, as of 17 September 2026). The honest route is a team member, contractor or creator in the market, openly running the account for your app.

Who makes the content

Option Pros Cons
Native-speaking team member Best quality Hiring
Local creator (paid, disclosed) Real local voice Cost per video; see creators vs own accounts
Translated scripts + native voiceover Scales Needs review
Machine translation only Cheap Often reads wrong; review at minimum

Tracking each market

  • One App Store Connect campaign token per localized account. Campaign data can be filtered by territory (App Store Connect Help, as of 17 September 2026).
  • A custom product page in each language (Apple Developer, as of 17 September 2026).
  • Compare markets on installs and trial starts, not views. See metrics and how many accounts.

Running localized accounts on real iPhones

Farmero posts from your own iPhones, and each account's card carries its own caption, so each language gets its own text. Scheduled and smart posting windows help match each market's hours. Per-phone proxies are optional (Settings → Proxies) for network setup; they don't make an account local and shouldn't be used to disguise who runs it. See proxies. Automating these apps may breach their terms, and nobody can promise an account will never be restricted.

FAQ

Can I target another country with a TikTok account?

Make content in that language and culture, ideally with people from that market. Don't fake the account's location.

Does changing the phone's language make an account local?

TikTok says settings like language and country get lower weight than what people actively engage with. The content matters more.

Should each language have its own account?

Usually yes, so each account has one clear audience.

Do I need local App Store pages?

Localized store text and screenshots make the store match the video, which helps the install step.
