Most of this half hour is Xcode downloading. The Farmero side is short.
1. Get a key
Take the free trial — no card. Your licence key appears on screen straight away and is emailed to you.
2. Install Farmero
Download it, drag it to Applications, open it. It is signed and notarised by Apple, so it opens normally with no right-click dance.
Paste your key into Settings → Account.
3. Plug a phone in
Connect the iPhone by cable and trust the Mac when it asks. Farmero lists it under Phones.
See Connect an iPhone if it does not appear.
4. Put the runner on it
This is the one step people get wrong, so it has its own page. The short version:
Install the runner with Product → Test (⌘U) in Xcode. Never ⌘R. The Run button installs an empty placeholder and your warm-ups then fail with nothing obviously wrong.
5. Add an account
Sign into the account on the phone itself, then register it in Farmero under Accounts. Farmero never asks for a password — it uses the session already on the device.
6. Run it
Pick the account, press start, and watch the Activity tab. The first run is worth watching: you will see it open the app, scroll, watch things for varying lengths of time, and stop if it cannot tell where it is.
Once one account works, add the rest and put them on a schedule.
